The Holocaust was a terrible time for the Jews. So far, the book I'm reading, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas talks about Shmuel getting hurt after eating Bruno's food and how Bruno doesn't understand what's happening with the Jews and why they looked so depressed. The mass killings, labor, and other torture was what they had to deal with during the control of Hitler. After the genocide you'd think that many Jews that made it out alive were in relief and that they had a place of freedom. But, the aftermath of the Holocaust led to many Jews becoming homeless due to many antisemitism riots. The riots led to to thousands of Jews migrating and staying in refugee camps. In 1948 when the state of Israel was established many Jews who still didn't have homes, moved to Israel. Finally, after many years, Jews who were once forced into concentration camps now had a home in Israel. In this article it says that the Jews later attacked the Palestinians due to the fact that they shared land but the Jews wanted it for themselves. This conflict still occurs today as the Israel-Palestine conflict which is basically Israel and Palestine fighting over land. The still happens today because the Jews that never had a home after the Holocaust finally found Israel as a home that to this day, causes a lot of conflict.
